World War I was a war that was started by an assassination of a prince. A serbian person came and killed prince ferdinand. The war started because there was alot of tension between the countries in eastern europe. The countries consists of the germans, russia, and serbia. Another factor that started the war is imperialism. This war was only between two countrys. But since some countries were friends of other countries, they joined the fight and then it was a war between most of the continents.

When the europeans first entered africa they expected it to be all easy. Little did they know that what lied ahead of them was much tougher. They faced many hardships and were almost killed. For example they were attacked by different tribes. After many tries they finally found the lake and named it lake Victoria. When they found the lake in the middle of africa was named after a british queen. The explorers Richard Burton and John Speke were a part of the Royal Geographic Society. Well soon after , the invention of the machine gun, steamboat, and the discovery of malaria's cure Europe was finally able to conquer Africa.

imperialism Project

We did the imperialism project because it was suppose to show us a broader view of imperialism and its effects. The project showed us how much land these countries had and how many natural resources were gained. I also learned about the war that were fought in order to gain and control these lands.

Nationalism

Nationalism is the idea of supporting ones country and culture. An example of nationalism is representing my country in the olympics. Independent government defends the nations territory and its way of life. Nationalism is when u represent for your troops , when people have a bracelet or a magnet on there car that says support our troops.

Italy was one of the countries to form from the territory of crumbling empires. Italy was not a single country it was a group of small states. A guy named Guiseppe Mazzini formed a group full of nationalist and no one youger then 40 was allowed to join.

Enlightenment

Enlightenment is sorta like creation but slightly different. Locke believed that people had life , liberty and property. He had a modern nature and felt that all people are born free and equal. His idea that a government's power should come from the people is the foundation of modern democracy. Enlightenment thinkers laid the foundation for our modern views of government. Inspired by the scientific revolution, they created a bridge from selfish, greedy kings and absolute monarchs to the governments that focused on the needs and rights of the people.

Sientists started to expirment, Aristotle had a theory that heavy objects fell faster than lighter objects. And for about 1,500 years, people believed him. Well, in the late 1500’s a young Italian named Galileo tested this theory. Galileo went on the top on the leaning tower of pisa and took different stones of different weight and droped them to the ground. From there he proved Aristotle wrong and we now believe Galiloe's method.

We were created by man which allowed Adam and Eve to live and make kids.People dont really know how humans were created sum say by monkeys and sum say by Adam and Eve who were created by God.Creationism refers to the religious belief that humanity, life, the Earth, and the universe were created in some form by a supernatural.

The evolution began with Charles Darwin.He believes that all life is related and has a decended ancestor,the birds and the bananas, the fishes and the flowers. Darwin's Theory of Evolution is a theory in crisis in light of alot of advances we've made in molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics over the past fifty years.
